Florida Children’s Health Insurance Program Eligibility

On March 20, 2024, Florida submitted a request for a new Children’s Health Insurance Program (CHIP) section 1115(a) demonstration entitled, “Florida Children’s Health Insurance Program Eligibility Extension.” This demonstration aims to increase access to KidCare, the state’s CHIP, by raising the income eligibility threshold from 200 percent to 300 percent of the federal poverty level. The federal public comment period will be open from March 29, 2024 through April 28, 2024.
