Healthy Indiana Plan 2.0 - Non-Emergency Medical Transportation (NEMT)

Indiana requests an amendment to its section 1115 demonstration, the Healthy Indiana Plan (HIP) 2.0, which seeks to extend the waiver of non-emergency medical transportation (NEMT) for beneficiaries in the HIP 2.0 program until the end of the demonstration period, January 31, 2018. Currently, the NEMT waiver expires November 30, 2016. The waiver of NEMT impacts all new adult group HIP 2.0 beneficiaries (both those in HIP Basic and HIP Plus) and does not apply to pregnant women, individuals determined to be medically frail, Section 1931 parents and caretaker relatives, and individuals eligible for transitional medical assistance. The federal comment period will be open from August 12, 2016 through September 11, 2016.
