Washington Medicaid Transformation Project - Amendment

On January 15, 2021, Washington submitted an amendment to the Washington Medicaid Transformation Project (MTP) section 1115(a) demonstration.  This demonstration focuses on delivery system reforms, delivering innovative long-term services and supports, providing services addressing social determinants of health for many of the state’s most vulnerable Medicaid beneficiaries, and treatment in institutions for mental diseases for substance use disorder and serious mental illness.  This amendment request includes four components:

• Delivery System Reform Incentive Payment (DSRIP) program value-based payment (VBP) adoption target for demonstration year 5, which is calendar year 2021;
• DSRIP VBP improvement score methodology;
• Long-term services and supports presumptive eligibility; and
• Expanding transportation services for Medicaid Alternative Care and Tailored Support for Older Adults enrollees.

The federal public comment period will be open from April 1, 2021 through April 30, 2021.
