Wisconsin BadgerCare Reform Extension

On November 18, 2022, the state of Wisconsin submitted a section 1115 demonstration application to extend their BadgerCare Reform demonstration, which is set to expire December 31, 2023. This demonstration provides a Medicaid benefits package for nonpregnant, nondisabled, nonelderly childless adults up to 95% of the federal poverty level (FPL). The demonstration includes cost-sharing and additional eligibility criteria for childless adults with incomes between 50% and 100% of the FPL. The demonstration also expands the state’s substance use disorder benefits package. The federal public comment period will be open from December 2, 2022 through January 1, 2023.
