D.C. Behavioral Health Transformation

The District of Columbia (D.C.) submitted an application for a new section 1115(a) demonstration that would allow D.C. to receive federal financial participation for inpatient, residential and other services provided to otherwise-eligible Medicaid beneficiaries while residing in institutions for mental diseases (IMD) for diagnoses of substance use disorder (SUD) and/or serious mental illness (SMI)/serious emotional disturbance (SED). The federal comment period will be open from June 11, 2019 through July 11, 2019.
