Indiana End Stage Renal Disease (ESRD) - Renewal Application On June 26, 2020, Indiana submitted an application to CMS requesting a 5-year extension for the End Stage Renal Disease (ESRD) section 1115 demonstration. This demonstration currently provides coverage to individuals with ESRD that are not otherwise eligible for Medicaid coverage. The application requests two changes. One is the state wants to increase asset limits from $1,500 to $2,250 for individuals and from $2,000 to $3,000 for couples. The second change is in response to the 21st Century Cures Act of 2016, that states beginning January 2021 all ESRD beneficiaries will have the option to enroll in a Medicare Advantage (MA) plan. Indiana is requesting to modify their communication to beneficiaries to inform them of this option. The federal public comment period will be open from July 08, 2020 through August 07, 2020.
