Idaho Behavioral Health Transformation Extension

On March 12, 2025, Idaho submitted an extension application requesting to extend the Idaho Behavioral Health Transformation section 1115 demonstration for five years. The state requests to extend expenditure authority for residential and inpatient treatment for individuals with a substance use disorder (SUD) and/or serious mental illness (SMI). The state is requesting to add a new expenditure authority for the Youth Empowerment Services (YES) Group — a home and community-based services section 1915(i) group.  The state notes in its application that it is not requesting to extend the expenditure authority for the use of Legally Responsible Individuals (LRIs) to render Personal Care Services. The federal public comment period will be open from 03/27/2025 through 04/25/2025.
