Regarding the Arizona Health Care Cost Containment System (AHCCCS) Amendment.
On March 31, 2025, Arizona requested to amend its Arizona Health Care Cost Containment System (AHCCCS) demonstration to allow the state to implement work requirements for certain able-bodied adults receiving Medicaid services. The state also requests to institute a lifetime limit of five years of Medicaid benefits for these adults, and imposing cost-sharing requirements to deter both the nonemergency use of emergency departments and the use of ambulance services for nonemergency transportation. The federal public comment period will be open from April 10, 2025 through May 9, 2025.
