Healthier Mississippi

Mississippi requested to extend its section 1115 demonstration, Healthier Mississippi, that provides coverage for aged or disabled individuals with incomes at or below 135 percent of the Federal poverty level who are not eligible for Medicare or for specific Medicare eligible subpopulations, who do not otherwise qualify for Medicaid. The current demonstration allows the state to cap enrollment at 5,500 individuals and to suspend enrollment of new individuals once the enrollment cap is reached. The renewal application seeks to add the previously excluded services of podiatry, eyeglasses, dental and chiropractic services. As well as increase the enrollment cap to 6,000 individuals. The Federal public comment period will be open from April 14, 2015 through May 14, 2015.
