Washington Medicaid Transformation Project

Washington submitted a request for a five-year extension of its Medicaid Section 1115 demonstration through December 31, 2027.  This demonstration focuses on delivery system reforms, delivering innovative long-term services and supports, and providing services addressing social determinants of health for many of the state’s most vulnerable Medicaid beneficiaries.  The state is proposing initiatives to further its goals of:  1) expanding coverage and access to care, ensuring that people can get the care they need; 2) advancing whole-person primary, preventive, and home-and community-based care; and 3) accelerating care delivery and payment innovation focused on health related social needs.  The federal comment period for this application will be open from August 1, 2022 through August 31, 2022.
