Oregon Health Plan SUD extension

On March 26, 2025, Oregon submitted a request to extend its Substance Use Disorder (SUD) Medicaid section 1115(a) demonstration entitled "Oregon Health Plan Substance Use Disorder 1115 Demonstration".  Under the demonstration extension, the state intends to continue to the SUD program as currently approved and to seek new authority to provide contingency management incentives as a medical intervention to any eligible demonstration individuals.  Contingency management is designed to motivate individuals in recovery by offering incentives for meeting treatment goals, and the state proposes to offer this benefit through participating providers, alongside other therapeutic interventions, and modeled after successful programs in other states as well as Oregon's State Opioid Response initiatives. The federal public comment period will be open from April 10, 2025 through May 9, 2025.
