Virginia FAMIS MOMS and FAMIS Select Renewal Application

On April 26, 2019, Virginia submitted an application to extend its title XXI (Children's Health Insurance Program (CHIP)) Section 1115 Demonstration for another five years with no program changes. The demonstration has two components. The first component is called "FAMIS MOMS" and it expands title XXI coverage to uninsured pregnant women with family income up to 200% of the federal poverty level who are not eligible for Medicaid. The second component is called "FAMIS Select" and it uses title XXI funds to support families with children enrolled in CHIP that have access to private or Employer-sponsored health insurance by providing premium assistance for such health insurance coverage. The federal public comment period will be open from May 3, 2019 through June 2, 2019.
