Georgia Planning for Healthy Babies The state of Georgia submitted a request to extend the Planning for Healthy Babies section 1115 demonstration, which provides family planning and family planning related services to women, ages 18- 44, with a family income at or below 200 percent of the Federal poverty level, who are not otherwise eligible for Medicaid, the Children's Health Insurance Program, and do not have any other health insurance. The program also provides coverage for inter-pregnancy care services to women who meet the above eligibility criteria and have delivered a very low birth weight baby on or after January 1, 2011. The state has requested no changes for the extension period. The federal public comment period is open from September 18, 2014 through October 18, 2014.
