Rhode Island Comprehensive Demonstration - Health System Transformation Program

Rhode Island requested to amend its demonstration to pilot a new payment and delivery system model via its managed care program for a five-year period. The state requests to implement Accountable Entities that will be responsible for improving the quality of care, member experience and total cost of care for managed care organization enrollees. This new authority will be used to fund a health workforce development program with the local University and several colleges to train health profession graduates who will commit to work in Rhode Island, within the public sector that works directly with the Medicaid community. The federal public comment period will be open from June 10, 2016 through July 9, 2016.
